BDS Admission


Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course is a 5 year course which is run under the aegis of Dental Council of India which was constituted on 12th April 1949 under an Act of Parliament - the Dentists Act, 1948 (XVI of 1948). The Dental Council of India runs under the aegis of Department of Health, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.

BDS Course in India without donation/no donation - through management quota: BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is a 4 years course + 1 year compulsory rotatory internship program. Minimum 240 days of teaching in each academic year is must. During the above period, students shall be required to have engaged in full time study at a dental college, where he/she admitted. Dental college either recognized, or approved from the Dental Council of India / Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.


BDS Admission Eligibility:
Candidate must complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to BDS Course. Candidate must have passed qualifying examination 10+2 or its equivalent from any recognized Indian board of study. Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Science subjects with Physics, Chemistry, Biology with at least (50% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for the candidates belonging SC/ST/OBC category) taken together and also passed in English as a compulsory subject.

​Last Date of Admission: As per the orders of Government of India, all BDS admissions in all dental colleges of the country must be completed by 30th September every year. No admission(s) shall be made beyond 30th September. No mid-term admission is allowed in any case.
