Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course is a 5 year course which is
run under the aegis of Dental Council of India which was constituted on 12th
April 1949 under an Act of Parliament - the Dentists Act, 1948 (XVI of 1948).
The Dental Council of India runs under the aegis of Department of Health,
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.

Course in India without donation/no donation - through management quota: BDS
(Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is a 4 years course + 1 year compulsory rotatory
internship program. Minimum 240 days of teaching in each academic year is must.
During the above period, students shall be required to have engaged in full
time study at a dental college, where he/she admitted. Dental college either
recognized, or approved from the Dental Council of India / Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
