The
institute was started in 2003 to provide competent and evidence based dental
care in a synergistic environment. Since its founding, the institute has
graduated several dentists. Even though the curriculum follows the prescribed
Dental Council of India (DCI) format, there's constant up-gradation on the
course content based on the inputs from alumni and the practicing dental
community.
The
approach taught here is patient-centered and is constantly evaluated to
integrate evolving biotechnological advances within the context of health
promotion and disease prevention. The BDS course offered at SVS is recognized
by the DCI and is affiliated to Dr. NTR Health University, Andhra Pradesh. Post
Graduate courses in eight branches of dentistry were introduced from the
academic year 2009-10, which were also recognized by DCI.
