Christian
Dental College is part of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, which
was established in the year 1992 with the untiring efforts of Dr. J. L. Joshi.
By 1992, the College was affiliated to Punjab University and the first batch of
20 students was admitted. In 1997, the Dental Council of India granted its
recognition to the College. The student intake was raised to 40 admissions per
year from 1988 Affiliation was shifted to Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab in July 1999. Christian Dental College is the first
private dental college in the state of Punjab to start the MDS course in the
subject of Pedodontia and Preventive Dentistry in the year with four admissions
per year.
It is a
professional institution where a student is trained according to the needs of
the society to become a competent dental surgeon. A student, here, is provided
with deep knowledge to treat dental and oral aliments with the help of
five-year comprehensive course of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S). Christian
Dental College has a private management and is approved by Dental Council of
India. Each department at Christian Dental College has a dedicated team of
faculty members who train students by organizing academic lectures, projects,
workshops and hands on training. It has separate Girls and Boys Hostels with
standard quality of food and lodging facilities. Students can also stay on
their own nearby residential areas. Standard cost of living here goes around
Rs. 6000 (Rent-Rs. 2500+ Food Rs. 2500+ Transportation Rs. 1000) per month.
