Indira
Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences is located in Kothamangalam, Kerala. It is
a professional institution where a student is trained according to the needs of
the society to become a competent dental surgeon. A student, here, is provided
with deep knowledge to treat dental and oral aliments with the help of
five-year comprehensive course of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S).
Indira
Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, established in the year 2007, was granted
recognition by the DENTAL COUNCIL OF INDIA and sanctioned by the GOVERNMENT OF
INDIA with fifty-intake capacity. It is affiliated to MAHATMA GANDHI
UNIVERSITY, Kottayam and 2010 onwards affiliated to KERALA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH
AND ALLIED SCIENCES, approved by Hon: GOVERMENT OF KERALA. The college is
managed by Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.
The
college is located at INDIRA NAGAR, east of Nellikuzhi town, and is situated
just three Kilometers away from the west side of Kothamangalam municipality. It
is on Kothamangalam-Perumbavoor route along the Aluva - Munnar Highway. Each
department at Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences has a dedicated team
of faculty members who train students by organizing academic lectures,
projects, workshops and hands on training.
It has separate Girls and Boys Hostels
with standard quality of food and lodging facilities. Students can also stay on
their own nearby residential areas. Standard cost of living here goes around
Rs. 7000 (Rent-Rs. 3000+ Food Rs. 2500+ Transportation and other Rs. 1500) per
month. The college is located in heart of the city and also provides transport
facilities. Also, students who wish to go out and refresh themselves of their
hectic schedules can do that easily as the city contains many popular places
and nearest food joints.
