College of Dental Sciences was started in the year 2006 with an annual intake
of 50 students. The Department of Health & Family Welfare Government of
India, through the Dental Council of India, recognizes this institution. The
College is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.
Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences is a professional institution where a student
is trained according to the needs of the society to become a competent dental
surgeon. A student, here, is provided with deep knowledge to treat dental and
oral aliments with the help of five-year comprehensive course of Bachelor of
Dental Surgery (B.D.S). Each department at Pushpagiri College of Dental
Sciences has a dedicated team of faculty members who train students by
organizing academic lectures, projects, workshops and hands on training.
It has
separate Girls and Boys Hostels with standard quality of food and lodging
facilities. Students can also stay on their own nearby residential areas.
Standard cost of living here goes around Rs. 7000 (Rent-Rs. 3000+ Food Rs.
2500+ Transportation Rs. 1500) per month. Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences
is housed in the second campus of Pushpagiri Medical Society, The Pushpagiri
Medicity; which is just 3 kilometers away from Tiruvalla town and is beside the
state highway (S.H I) (previously Main Central Road). The international
airports Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin are 128km and 112km away in the south
and north directions respectively. The coastal belt of the country is 25 km
away in the west direction and the Western Ghats lies 70 km east of the town.
Geographically, the town lies at 9.60 longitude and 76.50 The vast paddy fields
form the south and west boundaries of the college campus. The southwestern
breeze ever passing through the paddy fields and patting the treetops provides
a cool climate in this scenic location, which is quite distant from the hustle
and bustle of the town.
